Basic Training for Oil, Chemical and Liquefied Gas Tankers Operations


THE OBJECTIVES OF:

    This course aims to provide theoretical and practical training for seafarers to meet the standard of competence as specified in Section A-V/1-1 and AV/1-2 of the International Convention on Standards of Training, Certification and Watchkeeping for Seafarers (STCW) 1978, as amended in 1995 & 2010.


ENTRY REQUIREMENT:

    The trainee must have completed an approved shore based basic firefighting course meeting the standards of training given in Section A VI/ 1 of the STCW Convention.


COURSE OUTLINE:

    • Contribute to the safe cargo operation of oil, chemical and liquefied gas tankers.

    • Take precautions to prevent hazards

    • Apply occupational health and safety precautions and measures

    • Carry out fire fighting operations

    • Respond to emergencies

    • Take precautions to prevent pollution of the environment from the release of oil,     chemicals or liquefied gases
